Chania Prefecture

Village Drapanias is 33 km west of Chania city and 3 km east of Kissamos.

The International airport of Chania "I. Daskalogiannis", located 9 km from the city of Chania is used not only for scheduled flights of Olympic Airlines and Aegean airlines, but for many other flights from abroad, mainly corporate charter.

The port of Chania at Souda Bay is the largest natural harbor in the Mediterranean.

The prefecture of Chania covers the western part of Crete and has an area of 2,376 km² and population of 140.000 (census 1991). The northern area of the prefecture has very hospitable seas and comes in three peninsulas, whereas the southern side of the island towards the Libyan Sea is the most sunshine in Europe.

The climate is relatively mild, Mediterranean. The gift of endless sunshine gives the opportunity to start your vacation from March and end them at the end of October. The clean beaches of Chania Prefecture always win the "blue flags" of Europe and are accessible for all ages throughout the year.
